First Food

I have read multiple books on when to start baby food to what to feed. General thought is between 4-6 months, preferable at 6 months with very mild food such as rice cereal. I also have privilege to be able to read Korean baby food books as well and both West and East concur.

Here is the very first baby food I fed my daughter at 6 months and will also for my boy this week. Start slowly and don't get upset when he or she does not like your food...

Rice cereal: x 10 water content
1/4 cup of short grain rice (soaked in water over an hour)
2.5 cups of water
1. In a food processor or a blender: blend or semi-grind rice
2. In a non-stick pot : boil water and ground rice together until done -- Rice should easily break when squeezed with fingers.

Then Serve!!!

+++ you may add other grains that are not harsh or vegetables.
ie: 1) 1/2 short grain rice and 1/2 sweet rice with 2.5 cups of water
     2) 2/3 short grain rice and 1/3 potato fully cooked and mashed
     3) 2/3 short grain rice and 1/3 red or golden beet cooked and mashed

I have made numerous home made food for my little Lucy.
Never have I bought a prepackaged or jarred food.
I would like to share my food with those moms out there who are struggling to provide the best.
